Global Hand Washing Day 2012 – Muzaffargarh

HPM (Healthy Pakistan Mission) Lifebuoys Healthy Pakistan Mission formally started in schools in 2010, and has been led by Wasim Akarm as the brand ambassador. The objective of this mission is to empower students and teachers to bring about a behavioral change in children and the community members. Most ambitious students across Pakistan were selected as the vice-captains of Wasim Akram and were entrusted with the task of rolling out this mission in their schools.

Global Hand Washing Day (GHD) was created by the global public private partnership for hand washing in 2008 to:

• Foster and support a Global culture hand washing with soap.
• Shine a spot light on the state of hand washing in every country.
• Raise awareness about the benefits of hand washing with soap.

ITA Muzaffargarh team celebrated Global Hand washing Day every year on 15th October in different schools. This year Idara-e-Taleem-o-Aagahi Celebrated Global Hand washing Day in District Council Hall, Muzaffargarh. Like other districts, kids performed in different ways in order to communicate the message of health and hygiene.

Ms. Mehjabeen (Deputy DO) also graced the event with her presence and was glad to see kids acting as responsible citizens and building the basis for a healthier and better Pakistan.
