How important it is for our children to stay neat and clean? To adapt to changes that would help them stay away from germs and diseases? To make them recognize the significance of health and its benefits in the long run?
Considering the above highlighted issues, Idara-e-Taleem-o-Aagahiteamed up with Unilever Pakistan Ltd in order to bring about a behavioral change by targeting 650,000 students and 4 million of the community members in 2012. The accumulated target for the 3 years sums up to 9.55 million studentsand 15.4 community members. The campaign started back in 2010 and is now running in its 3rd year carrying its legacy along with WasimAkaram as the campaign’s prominent figure.
In order to celebrate the success of this wonderful health and hygiene campaign, Idara-e-Taleem-o-Aagahi and Lifebuoy celebrated Global Handwashing Day at District Peshawar,Mardan and Charsadda respectively,with 20 schools participating in each event. The event was hosted by Govt High school ,Hayatabad in Peshawar, Govt High school Prang in Charsadda and Govt Higher Secondary School Baghdada in Mardan. The kids brought the event to life with excellent performances like songs, drama, speeches and beautiful poems.
All students were very happy and they participated in the event with great joy and enthusiasm. The host school principal said that these type of activities are very important for the students. He thanked ITA and Unilever for this great event and all the activities conducted in HPM. Vice Captains from different schools express their feeling regarding HPM. They all again want to become a part of HPM next year.
